In two weeks you'll ride through more than six distinct landscapes with different climates: coffee hills, Andean peaks, Amazon jungle, desert, páramo and pass through some of the country's most significant, historically and natural places. Sleep in special places chosen for character over convenience. The route isn't just scenic, it's part of the adventure. It's the kind of riding that changes how you think about what a trip can be.

Day 0 — Arrival in Cali
You are welcomed at our homebase Casa Tierra Libre, Cali. Here you’ll settle in and meet the group. We’ll set up your bike and cover the route and safety. After a relaxed evening and night, we start the engines.

Days 1 — Warm-up: Cali
We don't throw you into the deep end. We do a day of riding in and around Cali. Getting you comfortable with the bike, Colombian traffic and the roads ahead. We pass some nice pueblos and restaurants.

Day 2 — Cali → Popayán
The journey south begins. The landscape opens up, the air cools, and the first major stop is Popayán — the White City — with its elegant authentic colonial center and a pace that feels like a different era.

Day 3— Popayán → Pasto
Deeper into the Andes. The road wines and climes through the mountains and; the views get serious. Pasto is situated next to a volcano. We eat some chicken at Mr Pollo and make us ready for the next day.

Day 4— Pasto → Tulcán, Las Lajas
We visit Ecuador's sculpted topiary cemetery in Tulcán and Las Lajas Sanctuary, a Gothic church carved into a canyon. Both are among South America's most famous and unexpected sights.

Day 5 — Pasto → Mocoa
We will pas Trampolín de la Muerte, a medium difficult dirt road carved into the Andes, that lives up to its notorious name. Tonight we stay at a jungle hotel where you will fall asleep at the sound of the river.

Day 6 — Mocoa → San Agustín
We ride from Mocoa out of the jungle. This day sets the stage for what's to come in the journey ahead as we reach the dramatic mountain terrain and landscapes surrounding San Agustin.

Day 7 — San Agustín
UNESCO-listed pre-Columbian stone statues are relics of vanished civilizations. We visit the archaeological museum and the Estrecho del Rio Magdalena, where the river's power is on full display.

Day 8 —San Agustín → Tataco
The scenery shifts completely. Green gives way to red rock, cactus and tranquility. The Tatacoa Desert is one of Colombia's best-kept secrets and one of the most memorable riding days of the trip.

Day 9 —Tatacoa
We ride through the desert and we explore the Red Desert. Astonishing when the sun goes down. In the evening we watch the stars at the observatory. It's all in Spanish but the sky is a fairytale on itself.

Day 10 —Tatacoa
We walk the Grey Desert with soil millions of years old and natural rock formations. Then we take a boat to spot caimans and take a swim with them (they're harmless). We dine with catfish, native to the river.

Day 11— Tatacoa → Cerro El Machin
We take the ferry and the scenery changes from desert to to volcanic terrain as we approach Cerro El Machin, 2750 meters, one of the great Andean crossings. We're taking a horse ride to our Thermales.

Day 12 Cerro Machin → Palestina
We ride one of Colombia's most spectacular routes which demands full attention. First we ride up to the volcano and then we will follow 'Alto de la Linea', 3378 meter, to the typical pueblo Salento.

Days 13 Palestina → Marulanda
We ride through Caldas, climbing higher into fresh mountain air, past sheep farms and authentic pueblos like Salamina. The road is mostly asphalt, but a challenging off-road section is available.

Day 14 — Marulanda → Libano
We ride off-road to Manzanares then head toward Libano. We are passing through the ruins of Armero. In 1985 the eruption of Nevado del Ruiz triggered massive mudflows that killed over 23.000 people.

Day 15 Libano → Cali
Through Murillo we enter Los Nevados National Natural Park, climbing into the páramo wilderness above 3.000 meters with wide skies and thin air. It's a beautiful sight. Then the final ride back to Cali.

Day 16 Departure
One last breakfast. Then home, or stay in Cali, or on to the Colombian rainforest, or already planning the next one. Whatever you choose, you will have a head full of experiences!
